Our Campaigns

California Hospital Medical Center Foundation is currently raising funds through the following special campaigns:

Hope Street Family Center capital campaign

California Hospital Medical Center and our partners have embarked on a capital campaign to construct the Hope Street Family Center. The new Center will house and be operated by CHMC’s Hope Street Family Center program and feature its health, wellness and family development services; new recreational programs and resources; and opportunities to engage the entire community.

Toward a total project cost of $15.7 million, we have already raised $10.2 million and are now raising the remaining $5.5 million by inviting others to invest in this dynamic community endeavor. The exciting new Center will provide families and their children the resources they need to grow, flourish and build a brighter future for generations to come.

When Seconds Count capital campaign for Trauma and Emergency Services

CHMC’s Trauma Center opened in December 2004 as a vital addition to Los Angeles County’s Trauma System. Since its inception, patient volumes have consistently exceeded initial projections. Our Trauma and Emergency Services Center is now operating at more than 170% of capacity, with more than 60,000 annual emergency and trauma visits in a space designed to accommodate just 35,000 basic emergency visits.

Trauma and medical emergencies cross all social, geographic, ethnic, and economic boundaries. In the blink of an eye—from a major automobile accident to the aftermath of a 7.0 earthquake or terrorist strike—any one of us could sustain massive, life-threatening injuries requiring immediate, expert medical attention. When a life hangs in the balance, the proximity of care can be the deciding factor, with mere seconds making the difference between life and death or permanent disability.

To accommodate current and future volumes, CHMC is implementing a capital expansion and enhancement project. Reconfiguration of the existing facility and acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment will allow CHMC to continue providing rapid and skilled medical care to those facing catastrophic injuries and illnesses. The When Seconds Count Capital Campaign will raise $9 million towards the total estimated project cost of $9.94 million. We are currently at more than 95% of goal and are seeking additional gifts to bring this campaign to completion.
