Project Impact: Expanded Emergency and Trauma Services

California Hospital has the only full-service emergency and trauma center in Downtown Los Angeles that serves more than 70,000 patients annually, including more than 2,000 trauma visits. Through this project, we are expanding our emergency and trauma center to include 51% more beds — all in individual private rooms. This will allow us to serve more patients and potentially reduce the need for ambulance diversions due to a full emergency department, enabling us to respond to everyday as well as unprecedented health crises hitting our community.

This greater capacity will help reduce wait times and allow for increased efficiencies, the latest technologies, and improved collaboration across our multidisciplinary team, resulting in the best possible care and patient outcomes.
