Healthgrades 2015 Patient Safety Excellence Award, a designation that honors hospital performance in prevention of serious, potentially preventable complications during hospital stays. The distinction places California Hospital among the top 10% of hospitals in the nations for its excellent performance as evaluated by Healthgrades.
Stroke Program Continues to Receive Top Praise
April 2015
The latest report from the Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency for the second half of 2014 showed California Hospital Medical Center as the second highest tissue plasminogen activator (TPA) provider for all stroke centers in the country. In April, California Hospital received the Target Stroke Elite Honor Roll form the American Heart Association American Stroke Association. The award recognizes California Hospital's commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of stoke care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted standards and recommendations.
The Leavey Trauma Center Celebrates 10 Years of Saving Lives

In an era when hospital emergency departments and trauma centers were closing throughout Los Angeles County, California Hospital made the bold decision to build a trauma center program from the ground up.
California Hospital Medical Center marked the 10th anniversary of its Trauma Center program with a celebration on December 3rd attended by former trauma patients, physicians, staff, board members and former administrators.
Since opening in 2004, California Hospital has emerged as the busiest private trauma center in Los Angeles County and has cared for more than 22,000 patients, saving thousands of livesin the process.
Ten years later, we are still leading the way in incredible outcomes and compassionate care.
