Mobile Phone Charging Carts enhance patient experience at California Hospital Medical Center

LOS ANGELES (April 18, 2024) — Earlier this week, California Hospital Medical Center dispatched new Mobile Phone ChargingCHMC staff standing with Mobile Phone Charging Carts Carts across inpatient and outpatient areas. This initiative, made possible by generous philanthropic support, offers a multitude of benefits for patients, caregivers, and visitors alike:

  • Convenience: Hospitals can be stressful, especially during extended waiting periods. Our charging stations provide a convenient way for everyone to keep their phones charged, making the experience less stressful and more comfortable.
  • Improved Communication: Staying connected is crucial in a hospital setting. Charged phones facilitate communication between patients, caregivers, and loved ones, ensuring everyone stays informed and connected.
  • Access to Health Information:  A charged phone allows patients to access important health-related information. This empowers patients to take an active role in their healthcare journey.
  • Increased Patient Satisfaction: Providing phone chargers demonstrates our commitment to patient satisfaction.
  • Efficiency and Reduced Burden: By providing readily available charging options, we can reduce the burden on caregivers and improve overall efficiency. This frees up valuable time and resources, ultimately leading to smoother hospital operations.

Garrett South, Director of Patient Experience at CHMC, standing with the Mobile Phone Charging Carts“Being in the hospital can be stressful,” says Garrett South, Director of Patient Experience, "and we often take simple things like a phone charger for granted. With the help of our generous donors, we're proud to enhance the patient and caregiver experience by providing technology needs to our community, ultimately making their time under our care more convenient and less stressful."
