A Year of Grand Achievements: Celebrating the Grand Tower Anniversary

January marks the one-year anniversary of the Grand Tower opening at California Hospital Medical Center

California Hospital Medical Center is pleased to welcome Brian Smolskis as its new President and CEO, who joined the organization on December 8, 2025. As we welcome Brian, we also mark a significant milestone: the one-year anniversary of our state-of-the-art Grand Tower.

The Grand Tower, a testament to the generous support of our donor community, has profoundly impacted patient care in its inaugural year:

75,000 Emergency Room Visits: The advanced J. Thomas McCarthy Emergency Center and Leavey Trauma Center have provided critical, high-quality care to approximately 75,000 individuals, serving as a vital resource for our community.
2,200 New Lives Welcomed: Our modern maternity facilities have facilitated the arrival of around 2,200 newborns, underscoring our commitment to comprehensive family care.

These statistics underscore the Grand Tower's immediate and essential contribution to the health and well-being of those we serve, directly enabled by your invaluable partnership.
