California Hospital Medical Center Foundation welcomes Dr. Luigi Di Stefano to its Board of Directors

LOS ANGELES - - California Hospital Medical Center Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Luigi Di Stefano to its Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2026.

Dr. Luigi Di Stefano

Dr. Di Stefano brings more than 15 years of emergency medicine experience and more than seven years of healthcare leadership to the foundation. As Medical Director of the hospital's Emergency Department, he leads efforts to advance clinical quality, strengthen physician engagement, and enhance patient experience.

Prior to joining California Hospital Medical Center, Dr. Di Stefano served as Associate Medical Director and Quality Director at Adventist Health White Memorial, where he led quality improvement initiatives and helped optimize operations across high-volume emergency departments. A Stanford University EM Residency-trained physician, he has also contributed to emergency medicine education and research through publications and lectures on a variety of clinical and professional topics.

“Dr. Di Stefano brings an extraordinary combination of clinical expertise, healthcare leadership and passion for community service,” said Eileen Conn, Chair of the California Hospital Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors. “As someone who works directly with patients and care teams every day, he understands both the challenges and opportunities facing our hospital. We are delighted to welcome him to the Foundation Board and look forward to his insights as we continue expanding our impact on the health and well-being of the communities we serve.”

Dr. Di Stefano is honored to join the Foundation Board and help advance the hospital's mission.

“My goal is to help improve the care we provide for our patients and strengthen relationships throughout downtown Los Angeles. While I work toward that goal every day in my clinical role, serving on the Foundation Board provides an opportunity to build lasting community partnerships that will benefit our patients for years to come.”

The California Hospital Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors is comprised of civic, business and health care leaders dedicated to advancing the hospital's mission through philanthropy and community partnership. As a board member, Dr. Di Stefano will help guide efforts to support patient care services, innovative medical programs, capital projects and community health initiatives that improve lives throughout the region.
